Call for Submissions: Hat Art Club 75th Anniversary Exhibition
The Medicine Hat Esplanade is seeking your “Art Treasures from the Past” for a retrospective exhibition celebrating the 75th Anniversary of the Hat Art Club, and its significant role in Medicine Hat’s arts and culture community.
The Esplanade and Hat Art Club invite all present and former members of the Hat Art Club to submit works for curatorial selection. Selected works will collectively express a visual history of the club, and showcase the diversity of artworks and genres throughout the last eight decades.
EXHIBITION dates: December 2021 to March 2022
Submissions Guidelines
Artwork submissions due: August 3, 2021
Open to: Current and former Hat Art Club members
Media: You are welcome to submit works for curatorial selection in any medium (e.g. painting, drawing, sculpture, printmaking, textile, mixed media, etc.)
You may submit your work by either of the following methods:
DIGITAL SUBMISSION
Submit digital images to Aurelia Archibald (co-curator) at aem.archibald@gmail.com. Submissions must include digital images of the artwork for submission in either a .jpeg, .pdf or Word Document format, along with the Submission Form, which can be downloaded by clicking the button below.
IN-PERSON DROP OFFContact Dan Meller at 403-458-2697 or email danmel@medicinehat.ca to coordinate a date/time to drop off artwork(s) to the Esplanade (Tuesday to Friday, 12pm to 5pm.) Submissions must be accompanied by the Submission Form, which can. be downloaded by clicking the button below. You can also pick up a printed form from the Esplanade’s Guest Services Desk.
